ISPA Awards 2008

The internet service providers awards or ISPAs are held every year to celebrate the best broadband providers each year.
ISPs are judged on price, value for money, time from order to delivery, contract options, speed of connection and other factors.

		Best Consumer Broadband Criteria: For the ISP which provides the best 256K and above broadband service for consumers. Winner: NewNet Finalists: Entanet NewNet Seriously Internet Virgin Media Waitrose An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges were pleased to see that NewNet are pushing the limits of broadband capabilities in a consumer market by introducing its own LLU service, offering up to 24 Meg ADSL2+."
		Best Consumer ISP Criteria: For the ISP which provides the most outstanding services for consumers. Winner: PlusNet Finalists: BT Orange PlusNet Tiscali Virgin Media Vispa An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges agreed that PlusNet put their customers first with transparent usage allowances rather than vague FUPs and their self developed traffic management system. The judges also felt that PlusNet's one month contracts were very beneficial to consumers."
		Best Business Broadband Criteria: For the ISP which provides the best broadband service for businesses. Winner: Datanet Finalists: Claranet Datanet Lumison NewNet PlusNet An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges felt that Datanet's range of broadband packages catered for all business users regardless of size. They were encouraged to see that the service is uncapped and unlimited for business users and that they offer good ADSL support."
		Best Business ISP Criteria: For the ISP which provides the most outstanding services for businesses. Winner: Eclipse Internet Finalists: Claranet Datanet Eclipse Internet Entanet PlusNet An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges were impressed with the restructuring of Eclipse to give prioritised support to business customers - including priority call answering. Eclipse's hosting packages can comprehensively cover the needs of today's businesse."
		Best Dial Up Criteria: For the ISP which provides the best dial-up service. Winner: Waitrose Finalists: Datanet Entanet Exa Vispa Waitrose An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges were impressed with the straightforward and simple installation of the Waitrose Dial-Up package. Of particular note was the customer support with a freephone number to the help desk."
		Best Consumer Email Criteria: For the ISP which provides the most outstanding consumer email services. Winner: Entanet Finalists: Entanet NewNet Pipes Vispa Waitrose An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges felt Entanet had a solid, simple email service."
		Best Business Email Criteria: For the ISP which provides the most outstanding business email services. Winner: Eclipse Internet Finalists: DataNet Eclipse Internet Lumison NewNet Zen Internet An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges felt that Eclipse can provide a complete range of robust business-class email solutions for business. Users can manage their accounts as their needs change with a sophisticated control panel."
		Best Wireless ISP Criteria: For the service provider which provides the best wireless service. Winner: Vodafone Finalists: BOZII Kijoma South West Internet T-Mobile Vodafone An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges felt that Vodafone's wireless solution was at the cutting edge of new and emerging HSPA technology with their HSDPA and HSUPA enabling great functionality."
		Best Shared Hosting Criteria: For the ISP that provides the best shared hosting services. Winner: Namesco Finalists: 123-reg EasySapce Exa Namesco UK-2 An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges decided unanimously that Namesco's range of packages and the availability of up-to-date hosting statisticss allowed the flexibility to accommodate a customers' shared hosting needs. They were also pleased to see that the customer support was available seven days a week."
		Best Dedicated Hosting Criteria: For the ISP which provides the best dedicated hosting services. Winner: UKFast Finalists: Namesco Netcetera UK-2 UKFast Webfusion An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges agreed that UKFast has placed importance on client data protection and can offer customers a variety of secure hosting packages which include automated patch management and good SLAs.
		Best Portal Criteria: For the ISP which provides the best portal. Winner: Eclipse Internet Finalists: Bt.yahoo.com Karoo.co.uk Orange.co.uk Tiscali.co.uk Virginmedia.com An ISPA spokesperson said, "The judges felt the bt.yahoo portal is clear and well laid out. Users have easy access to any additional services that they require such as the digital vault for storage and access to manage their BT account. Content boxes can be moved around or added into the portal page allowing the user to customise and personalise their page."
